The Philadelphia Eagles’ cap is $1,071,000 and the New Orleans Saints’ cap was $1.2 million.
The Los Angeles Chargers’ cap, which is set to go on sale next week, is $8,971,750.
The Carolina Panthers’ cap for the 2014 season is $13,619,878.
The Seahawks have the cap space for the rest of their offseason and will be able to use it to acquire a player with a high cap number, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
“There’s a lot of money for free agents and for trade.
They’re just going to use the cap for their own purposes,” Rapopet said.
“They can do that.”
In addition to the cap savings for the Seahawks, they’ll be able use it for players who are currently on the roster and players that will not be on the 53-man roster next season, Rapopord said.
This season, the Seahawks had the fifth-most cap space of any NFL team.
On top of that, the team’s new contract extension with Jimmy Graham allows them to use up to $10 million in cap space, Rapaport added.
As for how much the Seahawks will save this offseason, Rapiport noted that the cap hit for the players on the current roster is just $1 million.
They’ll save $2 million if they bring back Earl Thomas, $3 million if he retires and $5 million if Thomas retires.
The Seahawks’ 2018 salary cap hit is $72 million.
If they cut all their veteran free agents, they’d have $57 million in space.
