The Brooklyn Nets will begin the NBA season with a young, dynamic team in the NBA’s newest trade market.
The Nets traded forward Tom Brady to the New Orleans Saints on Thursday, according to multiple reports.
Brady is an unrestricted free agent and has been with the Saints since 2009.
The New Orleans Sports Information Office reported the trade and said the team plans to release Brady from the team’s contract before the NBA trade deadline on Thursday.
The Pelicans have said they intend to sign Brady before the trade deadline, but there is a chance he could be traded before that date.
The team also plans to make a decision about the future of All-Star forward Kemba Walker, who is also an unrestricted-free agent.
Walker has been an integral part of the Pelicans’ offense for years, but he was hurt last season and had a tough start to the season.
The Pelicans are expected to release Walker before the draft.
